What I do
I'm the founder of Query.Farm. I build tools that connect databases to the systems around them, and contribute upstream to DuckDB, Apache Arrow, and Apache Iceberg. My work spans query execution, data interchange, and running custom code through SQL.
Previously, I led data platform engineering at Schonfeld, built cloud infrastructure at Two Sigma, and co-founded businesses in commerce and live video. I work across the code, the architecture, and the team that ships it.

Built and led an 11-person global team delivering the data platform for systematic trading research and production, with hundreds of datasets and one exceeding a trillion rows.
Combined Arrow, DuckDB, Iceberg, SQLite, and AWS into a lakehouse with data lineage, point-in-time queries, and change data capture. Researchers could use Jupyter, Databricks, KDB, or R.

Built infrastructure for quantitative simulations on AWS and GCP: petabyte-scale caching across thousands of instances, custom Docker storage drivers, and Mesos/Spark integration.
